Waterloo City Golf Courses

Waterloo courses offer something for every playing ability, from the beginner to the scratch golfer. Golfers will also appreciate the low green and cart fees.

Professionals and amateurs alike recognize Waterloo as a prime destination for golf. The city annually hosts such tournaments as the Waterloo Open, Iowa's largest annual professional golf tournament; Waterloo Junior Open; and Iowa Section PGA Junior Championship.

With four lakes and access to the Cedar River, George Wyth is an angler’s dream! Water areas include: Brinker Lake (120 acres, open
for power boating), George Wyth Lake (75 acres, no wake lake with handicap accessible fishing pier and fishing jetties), Fisher Lake
(40 acre natural lake), Alice Wyth Lake (60 acres, electric motors only) and the Cedar River. Canoeing, kayaking, sailboating and
windsurfing are also popular. The lakes and
river provide a variety of fish in a very scenic natural setting. Boat ramps are available on the river and lakes.
Hartman Reserve Nature Center

Since 1976, the Hartman Reserve Nature Center has been designated as an Iowa Watchable Wildlife Site and an Important
Bird Area. Deer, otter turkeys, pileated woodpeckers, red shouldered hawks, foxes, vultures, and bald eagles are some of the wildlife you might see.
